“Cotopaxi” is an intimate character-driven feature film with science fiction elements. The film is set in an alternate modern day where cloning was once legal. Clones are now outcasts and live mostly in secret. The film follows Alexandra (Ioulia Peterson), a young immigrant who loses her job when her controversial past is revealed. As she faces a turning point in her life, she must decide whether to return to Cotopaxi, the mysterious place of her origin. In the process she must grapple with friends, family, and an enigmatic neighbor named Leo (Alex Braginsky), whose secret past may hold the key to her future.
The debut feature-length film by Matthew Peterson.
